Searching for Colleges
While searching for colleges, I learned there were two types of school of higher learning. One was undergraduate school and the other was graduate school in which u need to pass undergraduate to apply. Another thing I learned was that there are also private and public colleges. One of the major differences is that in private school, all kids pay the same while in public colleges, kids pay different amounts depending whether they are out of state or in state applicants. I also learned some colleges are more focus in subject while others have more options. The last and most important thing I learned about colleges is about financial aid.
Financial Aid Reflection
Financial aid helps students like me, pay their expenses of colleges. There are many forms of financial aid from scholarships where you don’t pay a dime to federal loans where you can receive huge amounts of money. I’m planning to apply for scholarships because I don’t have to pay it back when I’m done with my educational. Then I’ll apply for federal loans since they give big loans. I’ll try to pass through college with scholarships because I don’t want to pay a big sum back. But that don’t mean I won’t try to apply to every single form of financial aid because every penny counts.

Writing Reflection
In the beginning of the school year, I thought my previous English teachers thought me well. But, it turns out I still have much to learn, take my score from my essay in TAKS. I used to get a 2 on it, now I got a 4. That’s a huge improvement for me. That is one example of how I improved in writing.
I also learned new ways for writing such as anaphora. This is restating something with the same beginning. My vocabulary also expanded with our weekly words to memorize for tests. Some words were easier to remember than others. Like how to say a better way of saying that you are a janitor.
Overall, I feel like my writing has improved from understanding even more what a thesis statement is to being able to judge other’s work. Sometimes it’s easy to see other’s mistakes than your own. But like I said in the beginning, I still have more to improve since high school isn’t over yet. Next grade, I’ll try to further improve my writing by not succumbing to senioritis.
